We are seeking a motivated and self-driven Farmers Market Sales Representative to join our team. As a representative of our specialty pork farm, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our high-quality culinary products at the farmers market. Your role will involve interacting with customers, showcasing our products, and ensuring a positive buying experience.
Responsibilities:
- Engage customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, educating them about our specialty pork products.
- Set up and maintain an attractive and organized display booth at the farmers market.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries, and offering product recommendations.
- Handle cash transactions and use a point-of-sale system accurately.
- Lift and carry up to 50lbs of products and equipment for booth setup and teardown.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, including cooking methods and culinary applications.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the pork industry, with an emphasis on specialty culinary products.
- Have the ability to accommodate a small freezer for storage of pork products.
- Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to transport products and equipment to and from the farmers market.
- Coordinate and travel to our storage location in Irvine for product resupply as needed.
- Work collaboratively with our team to achieve sales targets and promote our brand.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of specialty culinary products, specifically in the pork industry.
- Self-driven and motivated to achieve sales goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as farmers markets often operate during those times.
- Physical stamina to handle booth setup, 4-5 hours on your feet, and lifting heavy items for setup and tear down.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Food handling and safety certifications are a plus.
