About the Company
Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed AI startup building infrastructure for large-scale agent orchestration. Founded in 2024, the team is small (~10 people) and moving fast in one of the most competitive areas of AI. Engineers here operate as hands-on individual contributors with outsized ownership over the product.
About the Role
This is a hands-on IC role building and scaling the distributed systems that power large-scale agent orchestration. You'll own meaningful infrastructure end to end, working directly on the hard distributed-systems problems that sit at the core of the product. This is a builder seat, not a management track.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and scale distributed services that orchestrate very large numbers of AI agents processing high volumes of tokens in real time
- Solve parallelization challenges including race conditions, real-time streaming of agent outputs, and write-throughput optimization
- Design and deploy production infrastructure as a primary individual contributor
- Contribute across the stack, including frontend application work where needed
Tech stack: Go, Redis, PubSub, RPC, Postgres, S3, Temporal
Requirements
- 3–5 years of fullstack product engineering experience (Go and/or React a plus)
- Hands-on IC track record of shipping products in production at a top-tier technology company
- A clear upward career trajectory — deliberate, ambitious moves toward progressively stronger companies
- Production experience deploying distributed services (caching, pub/sub, RPC, relational databases)
- Production frontend development with modern React tooling
- A growth-driven builder mentality with a track record of ambition and hustle
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to peers
- Able to work on-site in San Francisco 5 days/week
Nice to Haves
- CS degree or equivalent; non-target academic backgrounds are welcomed and valued
- Go experience in production environments
- Competitive programming or ICPC background
Why Join
- Outsized individual impact on a small, fast-moving engineering team
- Deep ownership of hard distributed-systems problems at the core of the product
- Early-stage equity upside in a rapidly growing area of AI
