Overview

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Mechanical Insulators for projects located in Hampton, VA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $30/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:

• Use hand tools, power tools, and insulation equipment safely and effectively

• Perform insulation repairs by removing and replacing damaged sections

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards

• Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines

• Communicate with foremen, project managers, and other trades on the job-site

• Install, repair, and maintain insulation systems on piping, ductwork, tanks and other mechanical equipment
• Apply insulation using materials such as fiberglass, mineral wool, foam and calcium silicate
• Fabricate and install protective jacketing using metal, PVC and canvas
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and work orders

Responsibilities

• • 4–6 years of experience as a mechanical insulator or in a related trade

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Knowledge of:

    • Insulation materials and application techniques

    • Industry best practices

  • Familiarity with:

    • Mechanical systems

    • HVAC

    • Plumbing

    • Process piping

    • Tanks

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Physical ability to:

    • Lift

    • Climb

    • Bend

    • Work in various environments

  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
