Job Summary
The Associate Sales Representative is an entry level sales position designed to build well-rounded, business-ready outside sales talent from the ground up. The role begins with a structured 90-day rotational training program in which the Associate works across the major functional areas of the business, including Inside Sales Support, Warehouse Operations, Outside Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, Controls Division, and Supplier Training. Upon successful completion of the rotation, the Associate is placed into a defined outside sales territory or account group, where they take on full responsibility for growing business at existing accounts and developing new business in their assigned area.
This role suits a motivated, coachable early-career professional who wants direct, hands-on exposure to every part of an industrial distribution business before stepping into a customer-facing sales role.
Phase 1: Rotational Training (First 90 Days)
During the first 90 days, the Associate Sales Representative will rotate through each of the following functional areas, working alongside experienced staff to learn the business from the inside out:
Each rotation includes a structured checklist of tasks, direct exposure to live customer and operational work, and a trainer feedback form. At the end of the 90 days, BSC leadership and the Associate will jointly identify the best-fit sales territory or account assignment based on performance, skills, and available opportunity.
Phase 2: Outside Sales Placement
Once placed, the Associate Sales Representative takes on the following responsibilities:

Limited travel during the rotational phase. Following placement, travel is primarily local within the assigned territory, consistent with the requirements of the outside sales role, including occasional overnight travel.
