Compensation: $110/hr
Schedule
• Day Shift: 6:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Primary need is weekend and night coverage
• Friday nights count as weekend shifts
• Preferred availability: 4 weekend shifts per month
• Minimum availability: 2 weekend shifts per month
• Provider is not required to work three 13-hour shifts every weekend
• Local candidates strongly preferred
Patient Population / Volume
• Patient Population: Adults
• Average Daily Census: Approximately 7 patients
• ICU Beds: 10
• Primarily bread-and-butter ICU and Medical-Surgical patients
• Approximately 1–2 burn patients may be on the service
Clinical Responsibilities
• Function as a responding clinician within the ICU
• Participate in morning rounds with the attending physician
• Complete assigned patient-care tasks following rounds
• Participate in afternoon rounds
• Provide ongoing assessment and management of ICU patients
• Work collaboratively with physicians, fellows, attending physicians, and APPs
• Some clinical independence is expected
• No APP billing responsibilities
Procedures / Clinical Scope
• General ICU and Medical-Surgical patient management
• No procedures required
• No intubations
• No central or arterial line placement
• No ventilator management
• No transplant management
• No echocardiography
• No EVD management
• No complex neurological or stroke cases
Support Staff
• 4 APPs on staff
• Physician supervision during day shifts
• Fellow/attending supervision during night shifts
• APPs function as responding clinicians
Requirements
• Board Certification in Acute Care – Required
• Critical Care / ICU experience – Required
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience – Required
• Active Massachusetts license required for Nurse Practitioners
• ACLS – Required
• BLS – Required
• DEA – Required
• Must be comfortable working in an ICU setting with some independence
• Local candidates strongly preferred

Credentialing
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 90 days
• Nurse Practitioners requiring a new Massachusetts license will not be considered due to licensing timeline
Travel
• Travel reimbursement is not provided
• Local candidates who can commute by car or public transportation are preferred
