Location: New York, NY 10016
Shift: Evening/Night Shift
Schedule: 3:30 PM–12:00 AM
Hours: 7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week
Total Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist to safely and accurately review, dispense, and manage medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.

The Pharmacist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication therapy, medication safety, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and accurately dispense medications according to valid prescriptions and medication orders.
  • Verify medication orders for appropriate drug, dose, route, frequency, allergies, interactions, and contraindications.
  • Ensure medications are prepared, labeled, stored, and distributed according to established pharmacy procedures.
  • Provide medication information and support to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor medication therapy and identify potential medication-related problems or safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize pharmacy dispensing systems and electronic medical record (EMR) systems as required.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Maintain appropriate medication inventory and assist with ordering, storage, and inventory control.
  • Ensure medications requiring special handling or storage are managed appropriately.
  • Participate in quality assurance, medication safety, and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and pharmacy team members to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy or department management.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of professional Pharmacist experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy, Pharm.D., or equivalent professional pharmacy degree.
  • Valid New York State Pharmacist License issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
  • Primary Source Verification of the pharmacist license required.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy practices, medication safety, and dispensing procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • English proficiency required — speaking, reading, and writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems.
  • Previous sterile processing experience.
  • Experience working in an IV room or IV medication preparation environment.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Required Certification & Licensure
  • Active New York State Pharmacist License (NYSED).
  • Primary Source Verification required.
