Job Title: Registered Nurse – PACU
Location: Petaluma, CA
Type: Travel/Local Contract
Shift: Day Shift | 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM
Schedule: 5x8 Hours
Hours: 40 hrs/week
Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview:
The PACU RN provides comprehensive post-anesthesia care across Phase I and Phase II recovery, including pre-op and recovery support in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor patients during Phase I and Phase II recovery
• Provide pre-op and post-op nursing care and education
• Manage airway, ventilation, and respiratory status
• Administer medications including sedation and emergency drugs
• Perform pain assessment and management
• Collaborate with surgical and interdisciplinary teams
• Assist with discharge planning and instructions
• Document all care in EPIC EMR
• Float across PACU, pre-op, and recovery units

Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year PACU experience – Required
• Active California RN License – Required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS – Required
• ICU or ED experience preferred
• Strong skills in post-anesthesia recovery and patient monitoring
• Experience with EPIC EMR – Required
• Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Willingness to float and work on-call shifts
