Position Overview

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the day-to-day operations of a commercial plumbing service division, working closely with leadership to ensure efficient scheduling, strong technician performance, and high-quality service delivery. This role plays a key part in coordinating field operations, supporting team development, and maintaining customer satisfaction.

This position is ideal for someone with a background in plumbing service or field operations who is looking to transition into a leadership role within a growing organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily operations of the plumbing service department, ensuring efficient workflow and execution.
  • Assist with scheduling and dispatching service technicians to meet customer needs and service timelines.
  • Monitor technician productivity, quality of work, and overall job performance.
  • Support training, coaching, and development of field personnel.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Review and assist with work orders, invoices, and job costing.
  • Track department performance including labor, productivity, and service metrics.
  • Support management of service agreements and customer follow-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in managing service vehicles, tools, and inventory.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service performance.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in plumbing service, construction, or related field operations.
  • Background as a Service Technician or Lead Technician preferred.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing systems, service workflows, and field operations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management software.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a lead, dispatcher, or supervisory role.
  • Exposure to service scheduling, dispatching, or operations coordination.
  • Interest in long-term growth into branch or service management leadership.
