Are you an experienced facilities management leader looking for a rewarding opportunity in education? We are seeking a Director of Facilities Operations to lead our partnership with Greenwich Academy, a highly respected independent K12 school in Greenwich, CT. This is a high-visibility leadership role where you will oversee all aspects of campus facilities management while supporting the Academy's mission of excellence, safety, and care for its students, faculty, and historic campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a skilled team of facilities, maintenance, and custodial professionals.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, custodial services, capital projects, and vendor management.
  • Partner with school leadership, faculty, and staff to deliver excellent service and maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment.
  • Manage and optimize the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective and sustainable facility solutions.
  • Utilize your expertise in mechanical systems and Building Automation Systems (Trane preferred) to troubleshoot and improve performance.
  • Support school events, seasonal campus needs, and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and operational standards.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Integrated Facilities Management (IFM), ideally in a school, university, or campus environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets, vendor contracts, and facilities projects.
  • Willingness to live on campus (apartment provided above the facilities shop).
