Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Travel/Local Assignment
Location: Carmel, IN (Floating to nearby facilities in Fishers & Avon, IN)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week
Shift Details:
- Alternating Shifts Required
- Mid Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Second shift required more frequently
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a 13-week assignment. This role requires a strong generalist background, including blood bank experience, and the ability to work independently across multiple laboratory locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and related diagnostic areas
- Accurately analyze and interpret test results
- Perform blood bank procedures including crossmatching and transfusion support
- Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, processing, and storage
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols
- Document and report results accurately in the electronic medical record system
- Work independently at satellite locations after training
- Float between multiple facilities as needed
- Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience required
- ASCP Certification required (MLS, MLT, or MT)
- Strong generalist experience, including Blood Bank
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with pediatric and adolescent populations preferred
- Flexibility to work alternating shifts (mid and night)
- Willingness to float between multiple locations
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Cerner) preferred
