A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is searching for a Senior Personal Property Field Adjuster. You’ll step into a role where your judgment matters on complex claims that carry real financial and personal impact.

Summary:

You’re the kind of person who doesn’t shy away from complexity. When a claim is messy, high-value, or emotionally charged, you lean in instead of backing off. You know how to balance empathy with objectivity, and you’re comfortable making decisions when the answer isn’t obvious. This isn’t a role where you simply follow a checklist. You’re trusted to assess, interpret, and negotiate outcomes that hold up under scrutiny. Some days you’re working virtually, analyzing losses and building estimates. Other days, you’re on-site, seeing the damage firsthand and connecting the dots others might miss. You move quickly, but you don’t rush. You document thoroughly, think critically, and take ownership of your claims from start to finish. You’re also the person others go to when a situation escalates or requires a steady, experienced hand. If you prefer highly structured, low-judgment work, this will feel uncomfortable. If you value solving complex problems and standing behind your decisions, you’ll find this role rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of complex property claims, evaluating damages, coverage, and liability exposure from initial assignment through resolution
  • Investigate losses using multiple sources including policyholders, third parties, and external data to form accurate, defensible conclusions
  • Analyze policy language and prior claim history to determine coverage, identify discrepancies, and escalate concerns when necessary
  • Negotiate settlements within authority limits and collaborate with leadership on higher exposure claims
  • Partner with vendors, internal stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to drive claims to resolution while maintaining compliance
  • Utilize virtual inspection tools and estimating platforms to assess damages and prepare detailed loss estimates
  • Maintain complete, accurate claim documentation that reflects decisions, rationale, and outcomes
  • Support catastrophe response efforts, including travel, on-call rotations, and extended hours when required
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced adjusters, providing guidance on complex claim scenarios
  • Handle claims involving legal counsel and navigate jurisdictional considerations including state regulations and construction factors

Must Have Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of property or claims adjusting experience handling moderately complex claims, or relevant experience in construction or insurance
  • Working knowledge of residential construction and property damage evaluation
  • Experience using Xactimate or similar estimating platforms
  • Ability to investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims with sound judgment
  • Understanding of property insurance policies, contracts, and applicable regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple claims and systems simultaneously without losing attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and participate in catastrophe response as needed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an adjuster license within 90 days

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with virtual claims handling tools such as ClaimsXperience
