Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our award-winning team in our Newport Beach office. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will have an essential role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to our continued success.

Responsibilities
  • Generate client invoices and assist with collections
  • Submit statements, run reports, create file profiles, and enter initial budgets and budget updates in various platforms
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor accounts against statements and payment transactions
  • Submit new billings and email appeals to the appropriate attorney for review
  • Assist with month-end closing processes and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as Firm policies and procedures
  • Code documents according to Firm procedures
  • Identify and report discrepancies
  • Perform routine account reconciliation, data entry, and maintain spreadsheets
  • Cross-train in other areas of Accounting and Finance as directed
  • Assist with miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required (or Bachelor's degree in progress)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in data entry or an office environment, preferably in a law firm or legal setting
  • Proficiency with technology and ability to quickly learn new systems and applications
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro)
  • Good communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience with legal billing portals and document management software (TABS, NetDocuments, Legal Exchange, Legal Tracker, LegalX, LSS, Quovant, etc.) is a plus

The expected base salary range is $23 - $26/hr, depending upon experience.
