Orthopedic Medical Biller and Collector


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Orthopedic Medical Biller and Collector to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring accurate billing processes and effective collection of payments, contributing to the financial health of our practice while providing excellent service to our patients.


Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims for orthopedic services in a timely manner

- Review patient accounts for billing discrepancies and resolve issues promptly

- Follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances with insurance companies and patients

- Maintain detailed records of billing and collection activities

- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing questions and payment options

- Stay updated on insurance policies, coding changes, and healthcare regulations related to orthopedics

- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes


Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in medical billing and collections, preferably in orthopedics or a related specialty

- Knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10) and billing software

- Strong understanding of insurance processes and reimbursement procedures

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards
