Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule
  • Shift: Evening
  • Hours: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
  • Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts per week
Compensation
  • Traveler Pay: Up to $3,500 per week
Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Hospital Pharmacist to join a leading acute care healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital pharmacy operations, medication dispensing, sterile compounding, and IV preparation while ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical care for patients.

Responsibilities
  • Review, verify, and dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
  • Prepare and compound sterile medications in compliance with USP and regulatory standards.
  • Perform IV admixture preparation and work efficiently in the IV room.
  • Utilize pharmacy dispensing systems and electronic medical records (EMR) to process medication orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy.
  • Monitor medication safety, identify potential drug interactions, and provide clinical recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospital regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support safe medication practices.
Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Hospital Pharmacist experience.
  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems.
  • Sterile compounding/sterile processing experience.
  • IV room experience.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active Pharmacist license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
  • Current Pharmacist License in good standing.

  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of medication safety standards and regulatory compliance.
