Nurse Supervisor RN Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Provide oversight and leadership to all on-duty nursing staff during non-business hours. Ensure proper staffing levels, monitor workflow, and assist with prioritizing patient care tasks. Address staff concerns and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.

·       Act as the highest-ranking on-site authority during after-hours and weekends. Make timely decisions related to patient care, staffing, safety, and operations. Collaborate with other departments when needed and escalate issues appropriately.

·       Offer clinical expertise and support in resolving patient care challenges. Assist with complex cases or difficult family situations. Handle call-ins or last-minute staffing changes, ensuring coverage and continuity of care.

·       Develops and maintains care standards.  

·       Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.

·       Gives and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.

·       Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. Cart, medication room, etc.), resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.

·       Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.  

·       Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.  

·       Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.  

·       Informs nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment etc.

·       All other duties, as assigned.   

Nurse Supervisor RN Skills and Abilities:

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.   

·       Strong interpersonal and team development skills.

·       Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.   

·       Analytical and problem-solving skills.   

·       Ability to organize and prioritize work and delegate to others.   

·       Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.    

·       Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.     

·       Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Nurse Supervisor RN Education and Experience:

·       Current CPR Certification required.

·       Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.   

·       Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.   

·       At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.  

·       Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 

·       Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.   

·       Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
