Job Summary
In the role of Nursing Student Assistant, you will support our clinical team in delivering compassionate, root-cause oriented healthcare under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This position is designed for nursing students currently enrolled in a 4-year program who are interested in integrative and holistic medicine. The role provides hands-on clinical exposure and the opportunity to grow into an RN position within our infusion team upon graduation and licensure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Vital Signs and Monitoring
Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate) and body weight.
Perform InBody body composition analysis as directed.
Assist with resting metabolic rate (RMR) testing and other clinical assessments under nurse supervision.
Support nurses with monitoring intravenous infusions and patient comfort during treatments.
2. Treatment Assistance
Assist with the application of topical and device-based therapies as directed by the clinical team.
Help patients prepare for relaxation and therapeutic modalities, including virtual reality (VR) sessions, normatec compression sleeves, ultrasound, and cold laser treatments under nurse supervision.
Support the setup and monitoring of regional topical therapies (thermal or frequency-based).
3. Therapy Support
Accompany patients during sauna hyperthermia and hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions, ensuring comfort and safety.
Provide attentive presence and reassurance during all holistic treatment experiences.
4. Patient Comfort and Support
Assist with mobility, transferring, and positioning patients as needed.
Maintain a welcoming, organized, and clean treatment environment.
Provide compassionate communication and emotional support throughout patient visits.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
Interest in holistic, root-cause, and integrative medicine approaches.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Reliability, compassion, and willingness to learn in a specialized medical setting.
Future Opportunity
This role is designed as a pathway to join our infusion nursing team. Upon successful completion of your nursing program and RN licensure, you will be eligible for consideration for a Registered Nurse position within our practice.
