Summary

We are currently representing a reputable commercial general contractor seeking a seasoned Project Manager with at least 5 years of experience overseeing DSA, Public Works, and Commercial projects. This position is ideal for a results-driven professional who can lead all phases of construction from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and confident in managing contracts, schedules, budgets, and field operations across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage full project lifecycle including budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and execution

  • Oversee all construction phases for ground-up, modernization, and tenant improvement projects within the public and commercial sectors

  • Collaborate with DSA inspectors, architects, engineers, and public agency stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely approvals

  • Negotiate and administer subcontracts and material procurement

  • Monitor project budgets, track job costs, and forecast project financials

  • Manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met

  • Supervise internal staff, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain quality, safety, and productivity

  • Prepare and oversee documentation such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contracts

  • Conduct project meetings, maintain communication with clients, and resolve project challenges

  • Ensure proper project closeout, punch list completion, and warranty tracking

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience with a general contractor

  • Proven background managing DSA, Public Works, or Commercial projects

  • Strong understanding of California building codes, DSA requirements, and public sector compliance

  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
