Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a strong background in Psychiatry to join our behavioral health team. The APRN will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic support for patients experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and mental status examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mood or behavioral conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring safe and effective management.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding medication use, treatment options, and mental wellness strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with practice and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and contribute to holistic patient care planning.
  • Support crisis intervention and provide ongoing patient follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted APRN license in the state of Florida.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited psychiatric nursing program.
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings (outpatient, inpatient, or telepsychiatry).
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and psychopharmacology skills.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and telemedicine platforms.
  • Background in addiction treatment, trauma-informed care, or dual diagnosis management.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT or DBT.
