Location: New York, NY 10003
Duration: 9 Weeks


Schedule
  • Day Shift (40 hours/week)
  • Monday – Friday
  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to support clinical dental operations in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role requires strong chairside assisting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, sterile, and patient-focused environment. Prior experience assisting in oral surgery procedures is required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures
  • Prepare and position patients; adjust dental chair and equipment as needed
  • Set up and organize dental instruments, materials, and supplies
  • Provide chairside assistance, including instrument transfer and suctioning
  • Assist during procedures such as extractions and oral surgeries
  • Maintain a clear operative field and support patient comfort
  • Clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments in compliance with infection control standards
  • Take and assist with dental X-rays and imaging procedures
  • Mix dental materials (e.g., amalgam) as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatments and documentation
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment
  • Follow all safety and regulatory protocols

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
  • Minimum 1 year of Dental Assistant experience
  • Prior oral surgery assisting experience (Required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Strong knowledge of dental instruments and chairside techniques
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity (standing, bending, lifting)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a high-volume dental or surgical setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with dental imaging and X-ray procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Certifications & Compliance
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Dental Assistant Program Certification (Required)
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterilization standards (Required)
