Manhattan Youth is seeking certified Lifeguards to join the aquatics team at our Downtown Community Center in Tribeca. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, and have a strong desire to work with children and families.

- Monday-Friday 8:30am-9:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-5:00pm
We are specifically seeking candidates with weekend availability.
Pay: $18-22/hr, depending upon experience. Candidates who also have experience teaching swim lessons may be eligible for $22/hr+.

Responsibilities
- Greet all members to the facility and create a warm, welcoming family environment
- Prioritize safety with a proactive, preventative lifeguarding approach
- Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules and regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe environment including but not limited to pool, pool deck, restrooms, locker rooms, steam room, and surrounding areas
- Wear proper uniform and be alert and ready to respond at all times
- Perform other related job duties as required
Qualifications
- Certified Lifeguard (Must hold valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certifications, or equivalent as recognized by the NYC-DOH)
- CPR/AED certification, renewed within last 12 months
- Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude and contribute to a positive team culture
- Swim instructor experience or experience working directly with children in a camp or childcare setting is a plus
- Preference will go to candidates with weekend availability
