SUMMARY
The Regional CEO provides executive leadership across four hospitals within the designated region. This role ensures operational, clinical, and financial alignment while cultivating a high-performing culture across all facilities. The Regional CEO works closely with hospital CEOs, Regional CNO/COO, and the system executive team to deliver sustainable growth, patient-centered care, workforce engagement, and community impact.
Responsibilities and Duties Strategic Leadership & Culture
• Creates an environment and culture that promotes the system’s mission, vision, and values across all four hospitals.
• Aligns regional strategies with corporate objectives, including service line expansion, physician alignment, and market growth.
• Serves as the primary liaison between hospital CEOs and system leadership.
Operational Management
• Directs and supports hospital CEOs and leadership teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Standardizes policies, processes, and reporting structures across facilities to optimize consistency and quality.
• Oversees clinical and operational performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Financial Performance & Growth.
• Oversees regional financial performance, budgeting, and resource allocation across all hospitals.
• Identifies opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and new revenue streams.
• Ensures financial sustainability while supporting capital projects and expansion efforts. Clinical & Quality Excellence
• Partners with Regional CNO/COO to drive consistent clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience outcomes.
• Implements system-wide initiatives for continuous quality improvement (CQI).
• Monitors compliance with CMS, Title 22, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies.
Talent & Leadership Development
• Mentors hospital CEOs and leadership teams, fostering a strong pipeline of future leaders.
• Champions employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion across all facilities.
• Ensures staffing strategies meet community and patient care needs. Community & External Relations
• Represents the hospitals in the community, building strong relationships with civic leaders, government officials, and partner organizations.
• Oversees philanthropic efforts and community benefit programs within the region.
• Enhances the hospitals’ reputations as trusted healthcare providers in the community.
Education & Experience Requirements
• Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field required.
• Minimum of 15 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare, including multi-site or system-level responsibility.
• Demonstrated success in hospital operations, financial management, and clinical quality initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead change in complex, matrixed environments.
