Position Mission: The Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for Protecting Our People, Assets and Cash for the state of Colorado. This is achieved through performance in several key areas:
- Identifying, investigating, and reporting all losses as they pertain to matters in inventory shortage, cash handling/shortage, refunds, employee meals, deletes, and all other avenues which detect loss or theft.
- Train and develop Operations Leaders on how loss/theft is detected so they can analyze data to prevent theft in the future.
- Accountability for reducing loss and/or theft through analysis, identification and teaching to achieve minimum company standards in all metrics.
The essential job functions for this role are defined in one of three buckets: Loss Prevention, Loss Identification or Loss Collection.
Responsibilities Include:
- Loss Prevention
- Facilitate a minimum of four micro-learning classes annually to Area and Market Coaches to build capabilities within the Operations Team to identify and prevent loss.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Review with each MC summarizing investigations, training sessions conducted, Delaget completion, and overview of LP trends and data while providing solutions for improvement.
- Attend a Market Coach Huddle bi-weekly to review systemic loss trends within the Market, provide solutions for improvement and facilitate micro-learning training sessions.
- Attend two Area Coach Huddles each week to review systemic loss trends within the Area and provide coaching for improvement. Create EARS form with each AC after each huddle to ensure there is a plan of action for improvement and a method of follow-up to ensure completion of the plan.
- Weekly recap to CO Market Coaches with insights and ideas for improvement
- Facilitate Par Ops (Delaget) training to new and promoted Operations Leaders as needed or requested.
- Ensure Delaget Guard execution is at 75% and completed with integrity.
- Conduct bi-annual Safety and Security Audit for each location.
- Provide SDHR with weekly updates of all incidents and investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies related to security.
- Loss Identification
- Achieve target KPIs for theft/loss metrics (ICOS, labor, deletes, employee meals, refunds, deletes before, deletes after and any other metric which can be improved by reduction in loss/theft.)
- Constant evaluation and development of means to identify and control all areas of loss.
- Identify, review, investigate, document, and report potential loss or significant training issues utilizing defined outlier parameters from data exception reports. (Envysion Stats, Par Ops, LP metric reports and any other data mining resources)
- Conduct a minimum of three investigations per week
- Identify, investigate and report violations of Company policies, local, state, and federal laws as regulations require.
- Investigate all evidence of unlawful activity or activity which violates policy or procedures relating to the security of company assets.
- Monitor required Safety/Security Audit completion weekly and work with MCs to address outliers. Area must be at 90% completion each week
- Loss Collection
- Conduct investigative interviews in accordance with company policy that support case resolution, including voluntary restitution agreements when appropriate.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement by presenting theft cases for prosecution when restitution is declined, and support criminal incident response by preserving evidence, securing employee statements, and assisting in documentation of police reports, officer information, and case numbers.

- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in all matters.
- Create and maintain professional relationships with all ARN employees.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to work varying days of week and times of day.
- Work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to travel to all Colorado restaurants.
- Role requires ability to work in the field 70% of the time and 30% of the time in office

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- 2-4 years of experience of investigation and/or security experience in QSR/Retail industry preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
- Must be an excellent teacher and coach.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and results driven.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to develop an effective schedule based upon the needs of the business
