One Tech Engineering is searching for a Designer for a position located in Edina, Minnesota. The Designer will design and upgrade electrical distribution systems to support solar interconnections

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and a background in construction, engineering, mapping, field staking, or a related field.

Designer Responsibilities:

• Perform transformer upgrades, pole-to-pole, and pole-to-house improvements.
• Conduct site visits to homes and businesses for field assessments.
• Research maps and existing infrastructure to develop upgrade plans.
• Create and finalize design solutions using GIS systems.
• Prepare and provide cost estimates to the engineering team.
• Receive and manage tasks from managers or DER (Distributed Energy Resources) group.
• Oversee project profiles, ensuring site checks are completed.
• Manage a portfolio of design and construction projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate with customers both in the field and from the office.

Requirements of the Designer:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Background in construction, engineering, mapping, field staking, or a related field.
• Strong multitasking, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with a personable and professional demeanor
• Utility design experience is a nice experience to have.
• Familiarity with GIS and SAP is preferred.
