I’m managing a confidential search for a Senior Chemist to join the R&D team of a well-established manufacturer in the industrial coatings space. This is a hands-on formulation role, working with technologies such as epoxies, urethanes, alkyds, and acrylics to develop performance-driven products for various industrial applications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Designing and refining corrosion-control formulations, including solvent- and water-based systems.
• Running application and performance tests—UV exposure, humidity, corrosion, and weathering.
• Supporting scale-up and product commercialization efforts alongside a collaborative R&D team.
• Working cross-functionally with technical service and production teams to solve customer challenges.

Ideal Background & Skills:

• B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related physical science.
• 2+ years of hands-on formulation experience in industrial coatings.
• Strong knowledge of cure chemistry, catalysis, and application processes.
• Familiarity with rheology, polymer chemistry, and colorimetry is a big plus.
