Position Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee the daily operations of our dietary department in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

This role is essential in supporting resident health, satisfaction, and overall quality of care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of dietary services, including meal preparation, service, and sanitation
  • Ensure compliance with Title 22, CMS, and state dietary regulations
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate menus in collaboration with a Registered Dietitian
  • Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards (infection control, HACCP, etc.)
  • Monitor food and supply inventory; manage ordering and cost controls
  • Conduct audits and ensure readiness for state surveys
  • Address resident dietary needs, preferences, and special diets
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning
  • Ensure a positive dining experience for residents

Qualifications
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required (or eligibility)
  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum 2 years of dietary management experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition regulations
  • Experience supervising staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting
  • Familiarity with electronic dietary or healthcare systems
  • Bilingual skills (a plus, depending on population served)
