Procurement Intern – Carrier Management (Summer Internship)

Location: Rochester Hills, MI

Duration: Summer Internship

Schedule: Full-time, in-office


About the Role

This internship is a hands-on introduction to procurement in the logistics world. As a Procurement Intern, you’ll help support and organize our carrier base — the trucking companies we work with to move freight.

You’ll learn how carriers are sourced, approved, tracked, and kept in good standing. No prior logistics experience needed — we’ll teach you.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do

· Help maintain and organize carrier information (contact info, insurance, contracts, etc.)

· Assist with onboarding new carriers into our systems

· Communicate with carriers via email or phone to collect required documents

· Help track carrier performance and basic metrics

· Support the procurement team with day-to-day tasks and simple projects

· Work with operations teams to understand which carriers are used and why


What We’re Looking For

· Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Communications, or a related field

· Comfortable using Excel and basic office tools

· Organized, detail-oriented, and willing to ask questions

· Good communication skills (email, phone, internal messaging)

· Interest in logistics, supply chain, or business operations
