Job Title: Senior Archaeologist / Principal Investigator
Location: Richmond, VA (Multiple locations available: Philadelphia, PA; Fort Washington, PA; Hunt Valley, MD; Richmond, VA; Raleigh, NC; Nashville, TN; Knoxville, TN; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC; Thomaston, GA; Tampa, FL)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Phase I-III archaeological field investigations, ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis.
  • Identify and evaluate artifacts and archaeological sites in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.
  • Conduct research and analyze historic and prehistoric artifacts.
  • Prepare and review archaeological reports, site forms, and project documentation.
  • Assist in planning project alternatives and resolving impacts to archaeological resources.
  • Collaborate with field staff, lab technicians, managers, and administrative teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet professional standards.
  • Contribute to business development efforts through proposals, budgets, and marketing materials.
  • Coordinate directly with clients and federal or tribal agencies to maintain project quality, schedule, and budget.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Anthropology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Qualification Standards for Archaeologists.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional archaeological experience, including historic and/or prehistoric projects.
  • Proven experience leading project teams from start to finish.
  • Strong supervisory experience in Phase I-III fieldwork.
  • Ability to provide a writing sample (thesis, dissertation, or archaeological report).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or eligible to become registered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcMap, or other GIS platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with federal agencies and tribal nations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
