Company Description We provide individualized 1:1 developmental support for neurodiverse children, teens, and young adults in school settings and in-office. Our work includes staff trainings and speaking engagements in schools and child care facilities to promote inclusive, informed practices. We also offer social learning groups through The Social Club, creating structured opportunities for peer interaction and skill-building. Team members collaborate in a supportive environment focused on practical strategies, family partnership, and meaningful progress for each learner.

Role Description The Developmental Specialist will provide direct, 1:1 and group developmental support to neurodiverse children, teens, and young adults in school and office settings in La Cañada Flintridge, CA. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing individualized intervention plans, supporting social, emotional, and behavioral development, and documenting progress in a clear and timely manner. The role involves collaborating with families, educators, and other professionals to align strategies across environments and participating in social learning groups through The Social Club as needed. The specialist may also assist with staff trainings in schools and child care settings by sharing observations and practical recommendations. This is a part-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with families, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Foundational knowledge of Psychology and child development, with interest or experience in neurodiversity-informed practices. Specifically DIR Floortime method.
• Experience or training in Early Intervention, including supporting developmental milestones and social-emotional skills.
• Understanding of Developmental Disabilities and evidence-informed strategies to support learning, behavior, and social skills.
• Ability to facilitate or support Training activities, such as staff education or parent coaching, in a clear and respectful manner.
• Relevant education Bachelors Degree (e.g., coursework or degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field) and experience working with neurodiverse youth.
• We are looking for energetic, physically active individuals who are comfortable working in an active environment with children who have sensory needs. The role may involve frequent movement, standing, walking, engaging in physical activities, and keeping up with the needs of the children throughout the day.
• Capacity to maintain professional boundaries, accurate documentation, and confidentiality in school and office settings.
• Flexibility to adapt to varied environments (in-school and in-office), schedules and to adjust strategies based on individual needs.
• This role requires flexibility to accommodate a client-driven schedule. Hours vary week to week based on current caseload, and candidates should expect to be available on short notice as new cases are assigned. Consistent availability and willingness to accept assigned cases are conditions of continued employment in this role.
