Job Overview AHRC is seeking a motivated Assistant Painting Supervisor to help lead painting projects across large-scale facility and office spaces that provide day services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent BFA or MFA college graduate or an early-career professional with foundational residential or commercial painting experience. You will work closely with and learn from a Master Painter with over 30 years of industry experience while developing valuable leadership and mentorship skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and support a small crew of neurodivergent young adults on daily painting assignments.
  • Assist with on-site preparation, safety protocols, and daily workflow management.
  • Execute and teach commercial painting techniques, including taping, cutting, rolling, and surface prep.
  • Ensure safe operation of ladders, scaffolding, and painting equipment.
  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and productive working environment for all crew members.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in residential or commercial painting (taping, rolling, cutting, prep work).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an interest in coaching or mentoring.
  • Comfort working on ladders and staging/scaffolding.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to working with neurodivergent individuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
