Job Summary

The Living Faith Church Nursery Care Provider will have a passionate, growing relationship with God and heart to minister to babies and toddlers (ages 0 to 4 years). They will provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care in the LFC Nursery facility during the Sunday Morning Worship Service.

Responsibilities

  • Expected to work all Sundays, including holidays, unless prearranged. Will have the option to work additional church events (times and responsibilities will be determined on a case by case basis).
  • Arrive no later than 10:00 am each Sunday. Upon arrival, the facilities must be inspected to make sure they are safe and clean.
  • Remain until 12:00 pm or until all children have been collected and cleanup duties are complete.
  • Provide age-appropriate care to children, including feeding snacks prepared by parents, changing diapers (if requested by parent) or escorting to the bathroom, as needed, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children.

Typical Day

  • Greet parents and children courteously and enthusiastically, and check children in.
  • Register new or visiting children.
  • Collect cell phone numbers in case parents are needed during the service.
  • When preschoolers are released from worship service, greet parents and check children in, then show and enthusiastically participate in the preschool video and use the leader guide to lead kids in associated activities.
  • Prepare children to be picked up, gathering belongings and assisting them in cleaning up.
  • Check children out, noting time and who collected each child.
  • Clean any toys that were mouthed and spray surfaces, including the changing table, with a bleach solution for sterilization.
  • Vacuum each room and make sure the bathroom is tidy.
  • Turn in attendance sheets.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Child and Infant CPR certification, including AED training.
  • Experience caring for children between the ages of 0 and 4 with the ability to interact with a variety of personalities. Formal education is not required, but is preferred.
  • At least two references.
  • Satisfactory completion of background check.
  • Satisfactory completion of mandated reporter training.
