About Tech Armada

Tech Armada LLC is a small IT solutions company supporting commercial and government-adjacent customers with technology modernization, cybersecurity, software development, cloud services, Microsoft 365, websites, networking, and general IT support. We help small businesses improve their technology, secure their systems, modernize operations, and prepare for future growth.

We are looking for a motivated student intern who wants hands-on experience across real-world IT, cybersecurity, and software development projects.

Position Summary

The IT, Cybersecurity & Software Development Intern will assist Tech Armada with client-facing and internal technology projects. This may include helping small businesses with IT support, Microsoft 365 setup, website updates, cybersecurity documentation, software development, system configuration, device setup, asset tracking, and other technical tasks.

This is a practical internship for a student who wants exposure to several areas of the IT field rather than only one narrow role.

Potential Responsibilities

The intern may assist with:

Basic IT support for small-business customers

Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and user-account setup

Google Workspace and email migration support

Laptop and desktop setup, configuration, patching, and documentation

Website updates, hosting support, DNS records, SSL/HTTPS, and domain configuration

Software development tasks for internal and client-facing applications

Front-end and back-end web development using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, SQL, or similar tools

Cybersecurity support, including MFA verification, antivirus/Defender checks, firewall review, phishing-awareness support, and secure configuration documentation

CMMC Level 1 readiness support, including asset inventory, System Security Plan support, policies, procedures, and evidence collection

Network documentation, Wi-Fi support, VPN planning, and general infrastructure support

Researching software tools, licensing options, IT vendors, and technical solutions

Creating technical documentation, checklists, diagrams, user guides, and project notes

Supporting client projects involving websites, security cameras, conference room A/V, printers/copiers, cloud services, and business IT modernization

Preferred Skills

Students do not need to know everything listed below, but should have interest or basic experience in some of these areas:

Computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, software engineering, network engineering, or related coursework

Basic troubleshooting of Windows laptops/desktops

Interest in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, cloud tools, or cybersecurity

Basic understanding of websites, DNS, hosting, or web development

Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, SQL, GitHub, or similar technologies

Interest in cybersecurity frameworks such as CMMC, NIST, MFA, patching, endpoint protection, and secure configuration

Strong written communication and documentation skills

Ability to research technical problems and follow step-by-step instructions

Professional attitude when supporting customers

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, curious, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. This role is a good fit for a student who enjoys solving technical problems, building software, helping businesses improve their IT, and gaining broad experience across multiple areas of technology.

Because Tech Armada is a small business, the intern may have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful real-world projects and learn directly from experienced IT professionals.

Requirements

Current college student or recent graduate in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

Ability to work independently and communicate progress clearly

Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with customer systems or business information

Reliable transportation for occasional local client-site support is preferred

Background check may be required for certain customer projects
