Duties

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each pet’s specific needs and breed standards
• Handle dogs safely and confidently, ensuring proper animal restraint and comfort throughout the grooming process
• Assess each pet’s coat condition, skin health, and overall behavior to tailor grooming techniques accordingly
• Maintain a clean, organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to discuss grooming preferences, special needs, or health concerns
• Recognize signs of veterinary issues or discomfort and advise clients on appropriate veterinary or pet care referral
• Qualifications
• Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of dog handling techniques
• Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience is highly desirable
• Familiarity with animal restraint methods and pet care best practices
• Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) such as large dogs or equipment safely and comfortably
• Excellent customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients and their pets
• Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles, animal handling, experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, patience, and compassion for animals of all temperaments.
