About the Role:

We are seeking a hardworking, independent and positive person to join our team.

Established in 1963, Dierks Equipment Sales Ltd. is a locally family-owned and operated small business. We are involved with specialty products that range from commercial plumbing and heating to steam systems. We act as a Manufacturer’s Sales Representative in the Province of B.C and Yukon Territory and are an important source of market related information for key brands.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Ship, receive and record the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from our business
  • Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, recording serial numbers, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
  • Email order confirmations and packing slips to our customer purchasers
  • Must provide excellent customer service by phone and in person 
  • Give customers basic information on products (on hand stock levels and pricing)
  • Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack product to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents and record shortages
  • Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas
  • Unload trucks, operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
  • Organize and pick orders to be shipped by freight or courier companies
  • Assist with call in orders
  • Process shipments, print waybills and labels for attaching to product
  • File copies of packing slips in records
  • Order shipping supplies and stock from factories as required for warehouse
  • Work with the Sales Representatives to process orders in a timely matter
  • Take phone messages from customers when other staff is preoccupied 
  • Assist with inventory counts
  • Ability to lift weights of up to 50 lbs
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks within the shipping & receiving area
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
  • Good attention to details, able to follow policies/procedures and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to the safety of self and others
  • Standard math and basic computer skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $24.00CAD per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour day shift 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Experience in the warehouse, shipping, and receiving administration is preferred but not mandatory
  • Forklift training and certification will be given to candidate
