20 hours per week, primarily afternoons and evenings

This position will be primarily focused on implementing the Alternative to Expulsion Program. This person will coordinate one of two sites and manage the preparation, implementation, and reporting for that site. The "Empowering Futures" program is designed to provide High School students who have been expelled with a structured, supportive environment that encourages positive behavior change and allows them to stay in school. The Coordinator will ensure the smooth operation of after-school sessions, manage student referrals, and coordinate with mentors and volunteers to deliver academic, emotional, and social support.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidates for this position must be able to work from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Coordinate and implement the "Empowering Futures" program for expelled high school students.
  • Implement curriculum and organize after-school activities, focusing on mentorship, academic support, leadership, and personal development.
  • Utilize the SBIRT (Screening and Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment) model to provide holistic support.
  • Track attendance, monitor behavioral changes, and maintain detailed records for each participant.
  • Ensure compliance with program policies and assist in preparing reports and evaluations.
  • Engage eligible students and their families.
  • Additional responsibilities may require this person to be active in other agency-specific programming or activities as needed. This includes in- and after-school programming, special events, and outreach activities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in program coordination and working with middle school-aged students.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work afternoons and evenings.
