We are seeking a motivated Student Developer for a summer role.
About Phzio
Phzio is a Canadian virtual health and wellness provider helping employers, organizations, and individuals access care faster. Through our virtual platform, people can connect with qualified healthcare providers for support with medical forms, injury prevention, movement, nutrition, and other health and wellness needs.
We are looking for a student developer to help us build, test, and optimize medical forms from early June until the end of August. The role is hybrid, with 2 - 3 days in office required per week. Offices are located at Ottawa's premier innovation hub, Invest Ottawa.
About the Role
The Student Developer will support the expansion of Phzio’s Forms business by coding and testing online forms, improving user flows, and supporting SEO/AEO optimization.
This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys exploring new tools and technology, working with digital platforms, forms, web content, basic front-end logic, testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, configure, code, and test public-facing medical forms.
- Test the full user journey from landing page to booking, intake, confirmation, and internal workflow.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and document bugs, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Support SEO and AEO improvements for public Forms pages.
- Conduct keyword research related to APS forms, EI forms, disability forms, attending physician statements, medical documentation, and related services.
- Help optimize page titles, meta descriptions, headings, FAQs, and service-page content.
- Assist with creating or improving high-intent landing pages for priority Forms services.
- Track basic SEO and conversion metrics where available.
Required Qualifications
- Current computer science student, software engineering student, web development student, or equivalent technical background.
- Comfortable with coding, debugging, testing, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of HTML/CSS, web forms, JavaScript or front-end development, CMS tools, no-code/low-code platforms.
- Familiarity with SEO/AEO techniques
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable learning new platforms and tools quickly.
- Able to work independently and clearly communicate blockers or questions.
