Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their food and beverage selections at the counter
• Prepare simple food items following safety and sanitation standards
• Operate POS systems such Toast POS to process orders accurately and efficiently
• Handle cash transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, including bussing tables and sanitizing surfaces
• Ensure food safety standards are met through proper food handling and sanitation procedures
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen staff
• Manage order flow during busy times to ensure quick service in a fast-food or café setting

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation and food service environments, including quick service or fast-food restaurants
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS for efficient transaction processing
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to boost sales opportunities
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks swiftly during peak hours
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and order totals
• Experience working in a restaurant, café, grocery store, or retail environment is preferred but not required
