Position Summary (3 Openings)
Youth Sports Coordinators partner with branch leadership to grow YMCA youth sports programs in Arlington, Lake Stevens, and Lynnwood/Edmonds. This highly visible, community-focused role emphasizes outreach, relationship building, and program delivery.
Coordinators lead practices, games, and events while creating safe, inclusive environments that promote youth development and community connection. They act as YMCA ambassadors, building trust with families and expanding participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong community presence and relationships with families, schools, and partners
- Plan, organize, and lead youth sports programs, practices, and games
- Support new program development based on community needs
- Supervise and support staff, instructors, referees, and volunteers
- Assist with recruitment, scheduling, and training
- Monitor program quality, participation, and budgets
- Represent the YMCA at events and outreach activities
- Promote programs through grassroots marketing and engagement
- Ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to YMCA policies
- Maintain facilities, equipment, and program records
- Travel locally; occasional extended travel may occur
- Support overall YMCA mission and operations
Qualifications
- Age 18+ with high school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience working with youth; sports knowledge required
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and multitask
- CPR/First Aid (or obtain within 90 days)
- Preferred: program coordination experience, diverse populations experience, bilingual ability

Physical & Work Requirements
