Camp Arcadia is seeking a nature-loving leader to join us for our 110th season. If you are passionate about traditional outdoor skills and love the idea of living and working in the heart of the woods, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

Skill Instruction: Teach campers essential outdoor living skills, including fire-building (safety and technique), knot-tying, shelter construction, and tool safety (knife and axe).

Outdoor Cooking: Lead "cook-out" sessions where you’ll help campers prepare meals over an open flame and teach Dutch oven or reflector oven techniques.

Leave No Trace: Instill a deep respect for the environment by teaching and practicing "Leave No Trace" principles during all lessons and overnight trips.

Lodge Leadership: Live in a lodge with a group of campers, providing mentorship, nighttime supervision, and fostering a supportive community.

What We’re Looking For

Backwoods Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of camping, navigation (map and compass), and wilderness survival.

Teaching Ability: The patience to guide children through hands-on tasks and the ability to make "learning by doing" fun and safe.

Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid (Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) is a huge plus). We will provide basic safety training if needed.

Team Spirit: A "can-do" attitude—whether it’s pitching a tent in the rain or leading a lodge campfire song.

Why Join Us?

Join a community that values tradition, simplicity, and the great outdoors. This is more than a summer job; it’s an opportunity to hone your leadership skills in a beautiful wilderness setting. Room, board, and laundry services are included!

Dates: June 12 - August 10 (options to stay until August 28)
