Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Pruning Assistant to support our fruit tree pruning business. This role is entry level and involves collecting twigs that have been cut from fruit trees and putting them in a neat and organized pile and/or putting them in bags to be disposed of, spraying fruit trees with solutions, applying fertilizer to fruit trees, pruning unwanted excess growth (suckers), and a growth mindset with a goal to learn more. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fruit trees, helping people, and a willingness to learn new skills in a dynamic environment.

Located in: Mississauga (Commuting will be needed for on site jobs)

Responsibilities/Requirements

Assist with pruning, planting, watering, and fertilizing plants to promote healthy growth

Operate hand tools safely for various pruning and clean up tasks

Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment after each task

Follow safety protocols during all horticultural activities

Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively

Ability to lift up to 20kg

A valid G2 ontario drivers license

Resume required

Skills (These will all be taught if not familiar)

Experience or familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in gardening and landscaping

Knowledge of gardening practices and pruning rule of thumb

Understanding of horticulture principles to support plant health and growth

Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety awareness

Willingness to learn about new horticultural methods and environmental sustainability practices

Payment

Starting at $21.20/Hour Per Job

Time driving between jobs will not count towards hourly, however gas to and from will be covered (Within Reason)
