Compensation: $3,000 – $3,500 (based on experience) + we pay for any travel expenses and includes all, room & board & meals

About Camp Chateaugay
Camp Chateaugay is a premier co-ed sleepaway camp for children ages 7–17, located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, energetic, and inspiring environment where campers grow, build confidence, and create lifelong memories.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Glassblowing Instructor to join our team for Summer 2026. This is a fully residential position. You will lead engaging, hands-on glassblowing and flameworking sessions for campers of varying ages and skill levels.

Glassblowing Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate glassblowing and flameworking classes (approximately 5 hours per day) 
• Teach fundamentals of safety, heat awareness, and proper tool use 
• Help campers develop skills such as control, timing, and shaping molten glass 
• Work with campers, of mixed ages (7-17), abilities, and experience levels 
• Maintain and responsibly use our state-of-the-art studio, including: 
  • 200-pound furnace 
  • Torches  
  • Multiple glory holes 
• Foster creativity, confidence, and teamwork through instruction 
• Opportunity to use the studio for personal projects during free time 

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in glassblowing and/or flameworking (torch work, furnace work, or glory hole experience) 
• Passion for working with children and teaching hands-on skills 
• Strong sense of responsibility, safety awareness, and teamwork 
• Energetic, positive, and adaptable attitude 
• Ability to live and work in a communal camp environment
