Dates: June 13 – August 12, 2026 (includes pre-camp training)

About Camp Chateaugay
Camp Chateaugay is a premier co-ed sleepaway camp for children ages 7–17, located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, energetic, and inspiring environment where campers grow, build confidence, and create lifelong memories. We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Golf Counselor for Summer 2026. This is a two-month residential role combining golf instruction with full cabin counselor responsibilities, offering the chance to teach, mentor, and create an unforgettable summer experience for
Golf Instruction
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate golf sessions for campers of all skill levels
- Teach fundamentals including grip, stance, alignment, swing technique, chipping, putting, and course etiquette
- Run drills, games, and challenges that promote skill development, confidence, and sportsmanship
- Adapt instruction to a wide range of ages, abilities, and experience levels
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain and organize all golf equipment and practice areas
- Utilize on-site golf facilities and support trips to a local 18-hole course for on-course experience
Cabin Counselor Role
- Live in a bunk with 6–12 campers alongside 1–2 co-counselors
- Support daily routines including wake-ups, meals, activities, and bedtime
- Maintain a clean, organized cabin and ensure camper well-being
- Provide supervision at all times, including rest hours and overnight
- Build strong relationships with campers, serving as a mentor and role model
- Foster independence, friendship, and personal growth within the cabin
- Participate in at least one cabin trip or campout per session
- Bring confidence, energy, leadership, and enthusiasm to all aspects of camp life
- Assistant other specialists in other sports if the ratios are over 1:8 in such as soccer, basketball, baseball, fitness, martial arts, volleyball, yoga, lacrosse, gaga ball (no prior knowledge needed for these extra activities)
- Participate in evening programs, special events, and camp traditions
- Help create a fun, inclusive, and supportive camp environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Starting at $2,500

Who We’re Looking For
- Strong golf background (playing and/or coaching experience preferred)
- Ability to teach and break down skills for both beginners and advanced players
- Experience working with children in a coaching or mentoring role
- Organized, responsible, and safety-conscious individuals
- Positive, energetic team players with a passion for camp life
As a Golf Counselor at Camp Chateaugay, you’ll do more than teach the game—you’ll help campers build confidence, develop new skills, and create lasting memories both on the course and in the cabin.
