The Role
Are you someone who likes working with your hands, solving puzzles, and staying active outdoors? We are a growing local pool company looking for a dedicated Service & Installation Technician.
This isn't just a "pool cleaning" job. While keeping water crystal clear is part of the gig, this role is a deep dive into the mechanical trades. You’ll be working with plumbing, electrical systems, and complex filtration equipment. We don't expect you to know everything on day one—we are looking for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and a "hunger to learn" who we can train into a top-tier technician.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your days will be varied, physical, and rewarding. Primary responsibilities include:
• Seasonal Openings & Closings: Removing/installing safety covers, winterizing lines, and prepping systems for the summer surge.
• Maintenance & Chemistry: Brushing, vacuuming, and cleaning filters. You’ll become an expert in water chemistry, testing levels and making precise adjustments to keep pools safe.
• Mechanical Installations: Helping install full filter systems, pumps, and heaters.
• The "Handyman" Scope: Performing light electrical work, PVC plumbing, and occasional landscaping/site restoration to keep the pool area looking pristine.
• Inventory Management: Keeping the truck and shop organized by tracking PVC fittings, pipes, and chemical supplies.
Who You Are
• Mechanically Inclined: You likely enjoy taking things apart to see how they work. You’re comfortable around power tools and aren't afraid of a little PVC glue.
• Physically Fit: This is a labor-heavy role. You’ll be lifting heavy covers, moving equipment, and working outside in the sun.
• Detail-Oriented: If a PVC fitting is 1/8" off, it leaks. You take pride in doing a job right the first time.
• A Self-Starter: You can manage a checklist and keep an eye on inventory without being hovered over.
• Reliable: Our customers depend on us to keep their "backyard vacations" running. You show up on time and ready to work.
What’s In It For You?
• Professional Apprenticeship: We will teach you the ins and outs of plumbing, electrical, and hydraulics. It’s a great way to build a "trade" skillset without the debt of a vocational school.
• Outdoor Office: Spend your summer outside, not behind a desk.
• Growth Potential: In a small company, you aren’t just a number. As your skills grow, so does your responsibility and compensation.
• Competitive Pay: Based on experience, with room for rapid increases as you master new skills.
Requirements
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools is a plus
