Needed ASAP: Executive Assistant Meets Wonder Woman (or Man)!
Do you pride yourself on your ability to juggle balls – or small elephants – and keep them airborne with few to no mishaps?
Do you find yourself wondering – in the quieter moments of your existence – if you might have been reincarnated as an eight-armed octopus… since your multi-tasking skills are nothing short of phenomenal?
Are you a great people person – with a naturally upbeat and “can do” attitude – who loves to answer the phone and make the customer feel loved?
And finally: are your organizational abilities something you take secret pride in … recognizing that not everyone is blessed with an on-demand OCD ability to organize their best friend’s sock drawer by color and type? (Okay, just kidding on that last, but we are looking for someone who can competently file paperwork and – better yet – find it again).
I am an attorney, married to a doctor, and together we run an exponentially growing medical company, as well as managing two human rights non-profits (that combat child sex slavery overseas, as well as promote lobbying efforts in this country to combat human rights violations) … and I’m also looking to significantly expand the public speaking component of what I do over the next 12 months!
We are looking for a unicorn: a wonder woman (or man) who can whip back their cape and juggle like an eight-armed octopus … while still retaining their sense of humor. A “people person” … who is also great with paper. A person who can un-jam a printer and make Expedia reservations – who ideally would also have experience in posting and monitoring content on Instagram, FB & Tiktok. A self-starter who has the typing skills one would normally see in a law firm environment … but who is nonetheless comfortable working from a home office 95% of the time.
This person will, in large part, be performing office management tasks involving event scheduling, travel arrangements, responding to emails and phone calls, posting and monitoring social media content, and doing occasional patient management for the medical business – while also less frequently interfacing with NGO folks in Asia and doing the odd “personal assistant-type” task.
Assets Required: Cheerful and upbeat. GREAT phone skills. Good ability to listen and duplicate what the customer is saying. MUST TYPE greater than 70 wpm. Great organizing abilities. Honest and ethical. Most importantly: someone who truly enjoys multi-tasking (and if you have eight arms and a couple extra eyeballs preferably in the back of your head, you get bonus points lol). Strong knowledge of Word required, with some fluency in Excel.
Assets NOT Required: Foreign language not required. No computer coding skills necessary either – just an ability to re-fill the paper tray on the printer without jamming it. Grumpy-bears need not apply. And incredibly shy people – who view a ringing phone like a potential bomb and wait until AFTER fourth ring to answer – also need not apply. Lastly, people who hate cats, dogs, corgi puppies, beta fish, and children should probably keep going with their job search (because we have all of those – and again – you will be working 95% of the time from our HOME office where such creatures occasionally wander by… except for the fish of course… he swims by).
Bottom line: I’m looking to clone myself … but until such time as that’s a real possibility, I’m hiring! And if you’re in college or grad school, and your schedule is flexible such that you can be working from 9:30 – 3:30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (or similar hours)… then this might just be your ideal job!
Desiderata: Hours are part time (15-20 hours per week, somewhat flexible). Comp range is $20-$23 per hour, based on experience.
