Little Field School is a Montessori and Reggio Emilia-influenced preschool and kindergarten program. Our vision is to provide children with a “slow” childhood that is rooted in empathy and presence, which emphasizes the importance of educator observation. Educators intervene only when necessary and/or invited - children are empowered to resolve conflicts with minimal adult mediation and engage in their work with deep focus and prolonged concentration. We believe in delayed gratification and aim to instill learners with intrinsic motivation and trust in themselves and understanding and affirmation of each other in community. Little Field School is a “tech-light” environment - phones are not used in the presence of children; exceptions are for research (identifying a bug or plant), playing music (no videos), or for taking photos.
Little Field School was founded with a deep commitment to community and offers immense potential for educator growth as part of a collaborative, creative, and passionate school family. We are a community of solutions-focused, out-of-the-box thinkers who believe in the power of intention and big dreams. We foster co-creation and build authentic relationships between educators, children, and families - with children at the heart of every decision.
