Summer Social Media Intern
BWC beth whiffen communications

Social media managers and content creators are the unsung heroes behind every successful brand—and at BWC, we take that seriously.

This is a hands-on internship for someone who genuinely loves content, wants to get better fast, and is excited to learn how social media actually drives business—not just likes.

You won’t be expected to “own” accounts or lead strategy (that comes later), but you will get real exposure to how high-level content is planned, created, and executed for leading wellness brands.

During this internship, you’ll build real, usable skills in:

  • Writing sharp, scroll-stopping social copy
  • Designing clean, elevated content in Canva
  • Sourcing and curating on-brand visuals
  • Understanding what makes content perform (and why most content doesn’t)
  • Supporting content calendars and day-to-day execution

You should already be using social media regularly (and thoughtfully). You don’t need to be perfect—but you should be curious, detail-oriented, and eager to improve quickly.

This role is a fit if:

👉 You love content and pay attention to what performs (and what doesn’t)
👉 You have a strong eye for aesthetics and what feels “on-brand” vs. off
👉 You’re interested in health, wellness, or functional medicine
👉 You’re organized and don’t let details slip through the cracks
👉 You’re coachable—you can take feedback and apply it quickly
👉 You’re proactive and willing to figure things out before asking
👉 You want to learn how social media actually ties back to business goals
👉 You’re excited to be part of a small, high-performing, no-BS team

What you’ll be doing:
  • Support content calendar planning and organization
  • Source and curate images, video clips, and visual references
  • Assist in creating static posts and simple graphics in Canva
  • Draft and refine social media captions (with guidance and feedback)
  • Help prep content for posting across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Conduct light research on trends, formats, and content ideas
  • Assist with basic community management (as needed)
  • Learn how performance is evaluated and how content is optimized
What you’ll learn:
  • How to create content that is strategic, not just aesthetic
  • How strong hooks, formats, and messaging drive engagement and growth
  • How a real content calendar is built and executed
  • How social media fits into a larger marketing ecosystem
  • The difference between “busy content” and content that actually moves the needle
