Job description:

Location: Camp New Hope

Shift: Night Shift (4:30 PM – 8:30 AM)

Overview

Are you a compassionate RN looking to make a meaningful difference in a fun, supportive environment? Camp New Hope is seeking a dedicated Nurse to join our team for the night shift. In this role, you aren’t just "passing meds"—you are a vital part of the camp community, ensuring our campers remain safe, healthy, and ready to enjoy the experience of a lifetime. If you thrive in a team-oriented setting and have a heart for specialized care, we want to meet you!

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be the clinical oversight and daily care of our campers. Core duties include:

  • Medication Administration: Accurately administer all daily medications to campers in accordance with their Medication Administration Records (MAR).
  • Timely Pass Management: Adhere to the standard 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 8:00 PM schedule, while remaining flexible for varied med pass times as dictated by specific camper needs.
  • Detailed Documentation: Maintain precise records of every camper interaction, including MAR entries, Incident Reports, and Daily Notes.
  • Clinical Support: Provide general first aid to campers and staff. Assist counselors with the application of PRN non-medicated lotions, creams, or solutions.
  • Camper Advocacy: Review camp applications and caregiver instructions to understand the unique support needs of every individual under your care.
  • Direct Care Assistance: Partner with counselors to assist campers with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed.
  • Safety & Emergency Response: Continuously monitor camper safety and comfort. In the event of an emergency, you will be responsible for contacting 911 and notifying management immediately.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Certification: Must hold a current CPR certification.
  • Teamwork: Ability to follow directions from management and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Compliance: Strict adherence to all safety and health regulations, as well as camp-specific policies and procedures.

Why Camp New Hope?

Join a team where your clinical skills meet a mission-driven atmosphere. We value communication, safety, and the joy of our campers above all else.
