Rookery Bay National Research Reserve is looking for a part-time (20-29 hours per week) Communications Specialist to assist in promotion of the work of the Reserve and the many programs and events occurring at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center. Strong writing, attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary in this role.

Responsibilities include updating media, partner and hospitality contact lists; sorting and maintaining press clippings; updating digital slides; and compiling monthly events to send to partners and local media.

In addition, the Communications Specialist will interact with all Rookery Bay departments to gather information to create social media posts and stories for a weekly report; take photos and videos of events, activities and staff at work in the field and assist in outreach events. 

The Communications Specialist must be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva and be comfortable creating social media video reels and posts. BS/BA (or currently working towards a degree) in marketing, communications or related field is necessary.
