Position

Summer Camp Media Specialists capture and edit photographs and videos of campers participating in activities and special events to share with parents and create marketing material. These photographs and videos commemorate the wonderful moments shared during the camp season. This is a fantastic opportunity for media specialists to expand their portfolio and improve their resume, all while working outdoors and making lifelong friendships.

Responsibilities

  • Take high-quality photographs and videos of campers, staff, and camp activities
  • Edit and organize photographs and videos for easy access and use by the camp
  • Edit periodic video recaps throughout the summer season as requested by supervisor
  • Work with camp leadership and the media team to create promotional materials
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
Location

This is a residential summer camp position located at partner camps across multiple U.S. states, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire, Colorado, and more. During the application process, candidates can indicate their preferred states, regions, and camp types. 


Staff live and work on-site at camp for the duration of the summer. Room and board is 100% covered during the summer session. During off-season, leadership staff will typically be located near the off-season office, or may have remote working options available. 

 

The typical US summer camp season lasts from the beginning to the middle of June until the middle to the end of August, with summer on-site duties lasting an average of 9 to 11 weeks. Vacation time after the conclusion of the camp session is typical, but may vary from program to program.

Requirements
  • Skills and experience operating digital cameras
  • Experience with an editing software of your choice
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time, capturing a variety of activities throughout the day
  • Familiarity and comfort capturing sports and other fast-paced activities
