Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Intern – Aerospace Manufacturing

Job Summary

Integrity EDM is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern to support our aerospace manufacturing operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in precision machining, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and the production of high-tolerance components used in aerospace applications. The intern will collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes, ensure quality, and support ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of precision components for aerospace customers

Create and update CAD models, technical drawings, and process documentation

Support EDM (wire and sinker) machining operations through process planning and optimization

Work with engineers and machinists to troubleshoot production and quality issues

Participate in inspection and validation of parts using metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM)

Analyze production data to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost improvements

Assist in developing and improving manufacturing workflows and standard operating procedures

Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer specifications

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical design principles

  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest or coursework in advanced manufacturing or aerospace engineering
  • Exposure to CNC machining or EDM processes
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Experience with inspection tools or quality control processes
  • Familiarity with materials commonly used in aerospace (e.g., titanium, Inconel)
