Operating since 1994, Mud City Adventures is Stowe Area’s original adventure day camp for kids ages 6 to 12. Every day is a new adventure as the local mountains, lakes, rivers, and trails are explored and the outdoors become our playground. Adventure Guides lead group activities including canoeing, kayaking, swimming hole hopping, river trekking, hiking, tubing, survival tool building, camp fire cooking, mountain biking, nature crafting, and more. Campers build confidence, overcome challenges together, and truly unplug in nature. The ideal Adventure Guide candidate is passionate about being outdoors no matter what the weather, loves to swim and play in water, to build forts & fires, and exhibits strong leadership and group facilitation skills. Teamwork is key as Adventure Guides work together and collaborate on gear preparation, logistics, and group management with the goal of successful and fun adventures for everyone. Adventure Guides contribute to the overall rich camp experience, leading camp crafts, coordinating field games and group challenges, and teaching basic survival skills and outdoor ethics like Leave No Trace. Candidates must be age 18+ to apply. Please ask us about our Adventure Counselor position for ages 15-17 and our Counselors-in-Training program for ages 12-14. Candidates aged 21+ with a good driving record and interest in driving a passenger van may provide camper transportation to and from adventures. 

Adventure Guides are a seasonal position available from June 22 to September 4, 2026, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with flexible scheduling and a minimum of a 6 week commitment. We support both full time and part time schedules, ranging from 2-5 days per week. Prior experience working with kids, prior guiding experience or past summer camp experience is a plus. Additional work opportunities for overnight camping experiences are available throughout this summer with interest. 

Pay range is $18-$25 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
